Overview:

The role of an App Admin requires strong technical skills in areas such as application deployment methodologies (e.g., manual installations or automated deployments), operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle), scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell), and application monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic). Additionally, they need problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, communication skills, and customer service orientation to effectively manage applications and support end-users in a technology-driven environment.

App Admin Skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manages application instance configurations and enterprise applications

  • Creates and manages license and security groups

  • Sets up user access

  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot application relate issues.

 

 

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains most system and application-level standards that include classification and list values

  • Upgrade system OS and application versions

  • Coordinate DBA resources, application vendors, application support teams and business offices for conflict resolution and minimizing impact to business
