Business Owner

Overview:

Business Owners (BO) are a small group of stakeholders who have the primary business and technical responsibility for governance, compliance, and return on investment (ROI) for a Solution developed by a Train. They are accountable for realizing the expected Business outcomes by steering the train to deliver the right solution. They also balance the expectations of the initiative owners by prioritizing PI Objectives through Business Value ranking.

Primary Responsibilities: Prepare and communicate the business context, including Milestones and significant external dependencies Understand and help ensure that business objectives are understood and agreed to by key stakeholders of the train Play a primary role in the draft plan review, understanding the bigger picture and how these plans, taken together, do or do not fulfil the current business objectives Ensure sufficient product backlog is ready while working closely with Product/Solution management group. Validate the improvement ideas in alignment with capability roadmap Deliver relevant elements of the business context in the defined PI timebox and assign business value to PI objectives Act as a communication channel to the end-user community Participate in Demos , user acceptance testing to provide feedback to ART Secondary Responsibilities: Participate in Pre- and Post-PI Planning and assist in adjusting the ART’s PI plans as needed Address impediments, which escalate beyond the authority of the key stakeholders on the train Help break silos to align development and operations to create a DevOps culture of shared responsibilities Help Epic Owners to guide major enterprise initiatives	Technical Skills : Demand Management Product Lifecycle Management Product Ownership Cost & Budgeting Strategy and Investment Value Stream Mapping
