Jira software is an Atlassian tool for workflow management, as well as end to end project and issue tracking.

Jira is an enterprise web-based tool for workflow management. Project teams will utilize this tool to capture and organize issues, assign work and follow team activity. The Enterprise (CTC/CTB/FGL/Mark's) Jira will utilize standardized project templates including 'Agile', 'DevOps', 'Operations' and 'Delivery' type projects. Key features of Jira include task and issue tracking, agile project management, customizable workflows, real-time collaboration, and integration with other Atlassian tools like Confluence and Bitbucket.

There are two steps that must be taken to work in projects within Jira:

  • you must have a Jira license associated with your AD user account/need to be added to Jira_users AD group

  • you need to be added to a role within specific Jira spaces/projects in order to access them. Project space admins are responsible to add users and assign roles within their Jira project spaces.
