Overview:

The Solution Architect is responsible for defining and communicating a shared technical and architectural vision across a Solution Train to help ensure the system or Solution under development is fit for its intended purpose. The Solution Architect develops innovative solutions and technology strategy.  They own the E2E solution design strategy across teams, and partner with other architects. The role makes recommendations for new procedures and overall architectural approach, partnering with senior level architects.

Solution Architect  Skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review and identify the gaps in the architecture and solution designs, assess and define remediation efforts or mitigation options.

  • Own technical solution on cross domain initiatives. Develop innovative solutions and technology strategy.

  • Support creation of the artifacts such as Concept Architecture, Top System Impacts and E2E Solution Architecture document.

  • Maintain design deliverables that include architecture diagrams, data models, and API / micro-service architecture.

  • Drive large cross domain initiatives that are supported by E2E Design, drives Technical Strategy and architectural trade-off discussions.

  • Reconcile architecture standards and practices from disparate groups with project Solution Architecture

  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements that supplier & ART technical team members drive into the project design and delivery.

  • Define NFRs to support the overall architecture

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Support Product and Solution Management team

  • Support system architect in case of aligning technology approaches across teams

  • Help in conceptualisation ART for a particular value stream

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and synchronize across architecture / capability roadmaps

  • Evaluate the emerging technologies and their suppliers to understand the fitment and provide input to the selection process
