Estimator is a powerful tool used by Solution Architects to accurately estimate the effort required for a project. The tool takes into account specifications, unit complexity and historical data to provide optimal calculation of effort required for a project.
The Master Inventory is what populates the estimator tool. It is populated by Solution Architects and is updated as required. For example, as the estimator tool gets more mature, we anticipate that perhaps the inventory may be optimized to further improve the accuracy of the estimates.
There are 3 steps in the estimator tool that the Solution Architect must complete:
Initiative details
Feature details and Work item details
Generate report
Once the above information is inputted the effort in days is calculated and a report is generated.
